What does bed bug control cover?
Bed bugs are small, flat insects about the size of an apple seed. They hide in mattress seams, bed frame joints, cracks in wooden furniture and behind wall panels. They are mostly active at night, which means weeks can pass before you notice the bite marks or dark smudges on the sheet. Their presence is not linked to cleanliness: they travel in luggage, clothing and second-hand furniture.
the dust and summer heat do not drive bed bugs away; they push them deeper into cracks and insulating materials in search of a stable environment. A female lays tiny eggs that cling to fibres and wood, which means surface treatment alone cannot reach both the bugs and their eggs. Bed-bug insect control therefore means treating the hiding places, not only the open surfaces.
We start by hearing what you have noticed in your room, then agree a time that suits you and lets you prepare before we arrive. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and the number of rooms, and we take care of the rest.
These are the places and surfaces the work covers, depending on the extent of the infestation and the furniture in the space.
- Mattress and fabric folds
The mattress seams and folds on both sides are treated, because bed bugs shelter and breed in them away from the light.
- Bed frame and joints
The bed frame, whether wooden or metal, is treated along its joints and fixing screws, which are among the most persistent hiding spots for bugs and eggs.
- Wall cracks and gaps
Plaster cracks, gaps around sockets and openings behind wall fixtures are treated, as bed bugs push into them and are hard to reach without targeted treatment.
- Upholstered furniture and sofas
Wooden furniture joints and sofa folds and undersides are treated, as bed bugs spread from the bedroom to sitting areas when an infestation grows.
- Curtains and carpet edges
Carpet edges and curtains near sleeping areas are treated, because fabric fibres hold bed bug eggs and make them hard to spot with the naked eye.
- Washable cushions and soft furnishings
Washing cushions and sheets in hot water before the visit is recommended, as high heat weakens the eggs, and the treatment reaches what the washing machine cannot.

Questions about Bed bug control
I have bites but I cannot see anything, could it be bed bugs?
Quite possibly, because bed bugs hide in cracks and folds during the day and come out at night. Look for small dark or rust-coloured spots on the sheet or bed frame, and for tiny transparent skins the insect sheds as it grows. Finding any of these is a good reason to contact us and describe what you see.
Where did the bed bugs come from in the first place?
Bed bugs do not usually come from dust or a neighbouring flat directly. They travel in luggage after a trip, in clothing, or in second-hand furniture and mattresses. In shared buildings they can also move through wall and floor gaps between units. General cleaning does not stop them returning unless their hiding places are treated.
Do I need to leave the whole house before bug spraying?
That depends on the scope of the work and the nature of the materials used, and it is one of the things agreed with you when you call before the appointment is set. Usually it is enough to clear the treated rooms and wait a set time before going back in; we will explain exactly what is needed so you can prepare well.
What changes the size of the job in bed bug control?
The number of rooms affected, how long the infestation has been present, the type and quantity of furniture, and how easy it is to reach the cracks behind it all affect the scope. An older infestation that has spread to several rooms needs broader treatment than a recent one in a single room. That is why we ask what you have noticed when you call, so we can agree on what fits your situation.
Is one round of bed-bug cleaning enough or does it need follow-up?
In some cases one session is enough; in others a follow-up is necessary to reach eggs that may hatch later. The interval and the number of sessions are agreed with you after the infestation is assessed, and that is something we explain when you call rather than after we arrive.
Does bed-bug elimination require moving furniture out of the room?
Moving furniture out of the room is not usually required, but pulling it away from walls as much as possible and exposing the backs and undersides helps. The more accessible the cracks and entry points are, the more thorough the treatment can be. We tell you exactly what to prepare when you call.
After the work is done, what should I check for?
In the following days watch whether the bites have stopped and whether the dark spots on the sheet are gone. Finding a very small number of dead insects at first is normal. If you notice signs continuing after the agreed period, let us know and we will agree on what is needed.
Can bed bugs be in more than one room?
Yes, bed bugs can spread to other rooms if not treated quickly. Tell us about all rooms where you have noticed signs when you call, so we can plan comprehensive treatment.
Can new furniture bring bed bugs with it?
Yes, bed bugs can arrive from outside sources including furniture. If you suspect infestation after buying furniture or bringing in secondhand items, tell us when you call for effective treatment.
