What does wood-roach control cover?
Wood roaches are larger than the common kitchen cockroach and tend to hide in damp timber, older furniture and unlit corners away from activity. They find their way in through gaps around wooden doors and window frames and through hidden pipe runs, and the humidity in lower floors or basements gives them a comfortable place to settle.
We locate the spots wood roaches are using in your home, whether in furniture, timber structures or the entry gaps around them, and then we treat those areas. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and what you are seeing, and we agree a time.
These are the spots and surfaces the work goes through, depending on the nature of the infestation and where the furniture and timber are in your home.
- Wooden furniture
We inspect the inner and rear faces of wooden furniture where roaches cling to dark damp spots, and treat those surfaces as the situation calls for.
- Wooden doors and frames
Gaps in wooden door and window frames are a common entry route for wood roaches, and we treat these openings to narrow the ways they get in.
- Damp corners
Under stairs, corners near water pipes and areas with poor ventilation collect moisture, and these are among the first places we check.
- Fixed timber structures
Wooden ceilings, columns and wall-fixed timber finishes hide internal voids where roaches settle, and these are treated through the available openings.
- Entry gaps and cracks
We follow cracks in walls and exposed pipe runs connecting rooms to the outside or to neighbouring floors, because these are how roaches travel between units.
- Under timber flooring
The void beneath raised timber flooring collects moisture and is hard to see, and we treat it when there are signs of activity there.

Questions about Wood-roach control
How do I know what I am seeing is a wood roach and not another type?
A wood roach is larger than the German cockroach common in kitchens, dark brown to black, and it usually appears near old furniture, timber or corners far from the kitchen. If you are not sure, describe the spot and the shape when you call and we help you work out what you need.
Do I need to move heavy furniture before the treatment?
You do not need to move everything, but clearing small items from behind and around furniture makes it easier to reach the surfaces the roach hides on. We agree with you when you call what is worth preparing based on where the problem is.
What affects how much work wood-roach control involves?
It depends on the size of the home, how much wooden furniture and fixed timber there is, and how long the roaches have been present before treatment. A recent infestation in one room is different from one that has spread across several floors or sections.
What should I check after wood-roach treatment?
Watch the spots you pointed out, such as furniture, corners and timber structures, in the days after treatment, and notice whether activity there drops. If you see unusual activity in the same places, let us know.
Can wood roaches move from one flat to another in a building?
Yes, they move through cracks in shared walls, hidden pipe runs and voids in timber structures shared between floors. Checking furniture coming into the home from outside before bringing it in reduces the risk of introducing roaches, and identifying entry points is part of what we look at during treatment.
