What does chair cleaning cover?
A fabric chair works like a filter: each time you sit, dust, skin oils and sweat are pushed down into the foam and the fabric layers below the surface. Drink and food stains set into the fibres when cleaning is put off, and the dry air traps fine particles deep in the weave instead of letting them disperse.
We start by listening: what kind of chairs, where the stains are if there are any, and which district you are in. Then we agree a time, and we take care of the cleaning from the seat pad and back to the armrests and the frame base.
These are the parts the cleaning covers in a fabric chair, depending on the fabric type, the chair's condition and what you notice in it.
- The fabric surface
We start by drawing out dry dust and crumbs from the fabric surface before any wet treatment, because wetting fabric that still holds dry particles drives the dirt deeper in.
- The foam layer
Dust and moisture work their way into the foam layer over time, and that is where the smell comes from that surface wiping alone does not shift.
- The backrest
The backrest picks up hair and skin oils with every use, and greasy marks gather along its upper section in a pattern different from the rest of the chair.
- Armrests
Armrests are among the most soiled parts of a chair because hands rest on them constantly, and dark marks tend to appear there before anywhere else.
- Seams and crevices
Dust and crumbs collect in the upholstery seams and in the fold between the seat and back, and those spots need close-contact cleaning to clear.
- Frame base
We wipe down the chair base and legs to remove gathered dust, as they touch the floor and collect what daily sweeping stirs around them.

Questions about Chair cleaning
How do I know the chair needs a deep clean and not just a wipe?
If the smell returns after a surface wipe, if a stain dries a deeper colour than its surroundings, or if the fabric feels rough where it was once smooth, the dirt has gone past the surface. A chair used every day reaches this state gradually and it is not always obvious at first.
Can an old stain on the chair actually come out?
An old stain is harder than a fresh one because the fibres bond with the particles over time. The type of stain, the fabric and how long it has been there are the three things that shape the result. Some come out fully and some fade significantly, and that is what we talk through when you call and describe it.
What should I prepare before the chair cleaning?
Clear any cushions or covers from the chairs, pull them away from the wall enough to reach the back, and let us know in advance if the chairs have a wood or metal frame so we treat them accordingly. Keeping the surrounding space clear makes the work easier.
Will delicate or embroidered fabric be affected by the cleaning?
Delicate and embroidered fabric is sensitive to pressure and excess moisture, and the approach differs from thick upholstery cloth. That is why we ask about the fabric type when you call, because the method changes with what is in front of us rather than being the same steps for every chair.
What should I check on the chair after the cleaning is done?
Wait for the fabric to dry fully before judging the result, because damp colour looks darker than dry. Then check the seat, back and armrests in good light: have the target stains gone, does the fabric feel soft with no stiffness where it was cleaned, and has the smell cleared. Tell us anything you notice.
