What does leather chair cleaning cover?
A leather chair picks up the natural oils from skin with every sitting, and those oils build up in the surface pores and along the stitching without looking like a visible stain. In the summer heat the leather expands and contracts, and with neglect the cracks appear first at the corners and wherever the surface takes the most pressure.
Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us about the chair's condition and which district you are in, and we agree a time. We take care of the cleaning from the surface down to the base, and you can stop worrying about the chair.
These are the parts the work goes through on a leather chair, depending on the type of leather, the condition of the surface and what you notice on the piece.
- The leather surface
We remove dust and built-up grease from the leather surface in a way that suits its type, whether it is natural or synthetic, because each responds to cleaning differently.
- Seams and stitching
Dirt collects inside the seam lines and between threads, and we clean it out carefully, because the stitching shows the age and cleanliness of the piece.
- The armrests
The armrests receive the most daily oil and sweat, and greasy marks start there before anywhere else on the chair, so they get particular attention during cleaning.
- Backrest and seat
The backrest and seat take the most mechanical pressure and are where cracks usually begin if the leather dries out, and we check their condition during cleaning.
- Stains and surface cracks
We treat greasy marks, ink and dark stains in a way that suits the leather, and light surface cracks are attended to during cleaning before they widen.
- Base and legs
We wipe the base and legs free of dust and dirt gathered at the joints, as they are visible from across the room and affect how the whole chair looks.

Questions about Leather chair cleaning
How do I know my leather chair needs a deep clean?
Clear signs include a shiny or sticky feel on the armrest or seat, a colour shift in the most-used areas, or dark seams on an otherwise light-coloured chair. If the piece is used daily and a long time has passed since the last clean, having it checked is a sensible step.
Can an old greasy stain on leather be removed?
Old greasy stains have worked their way into the leather's pores, making them harder to shift than fresh ones. In many cases they can be reduced or partly removed, but the result depends on the stain's age, the type of leather and how saturated it is. Describe the stain when you call and we will tell you what to expect.
What should I prepare before the leather chair is cleaned?
Remove any items on or next to the chair, take off loose cushions and covers, and leave clear space on all sides for easy access. If the chair is in a carpeted room, let us know when we coordinate.
Is synthetic leather cleaned the same way as natural leather?
No, synthetic leather is layers of polymer over fabric and differs in structure from natural leather. The approach on each is different because synthetic leather is more sensitive to certain materials and absorbs moisture less readily. That is why we ask for the leather type when you call, so we prepare accordingly.
What should I check on the chair after the leather cleaning is done?
Check the surface in good light from different angles: look for the main stains being gone, an even colour with no new white or dark patches, clean seam lines with no dirt left in them, and no sticky patches on the seat or backrest. If anything looks wrong, tell us before the visit ends.
