How do I know my aluminium windows need cleaning rather than maintenance?
If the frame has gone grey or brown in the corners, the tracks are stiff from sand build-up, or the rubber seals have changed colour, these are signs of dirt accumulation rather than material damage. Corroded aluminium or broken glass needs repair, not cleaning, and it is worth checking which you have before you call.
My window track is stiff, will cleaning fix it?
In many cases yes, because dried sand packed into the track channel is a frequent cause of stiff movement homes. Once the build-up is cleared from the channel the panel tends to slide more freely. If the stiffness comes from a bent frame that is a different matter, and we will tell you what we find.
My white frame has turned grey, will cleaning bring the colour back?
The grey on white aluminium frames usually comes from compacted dust and light aluminium oxide. Cleaning removes the accumulated layer, and that alone makes a clear difference to the colour. If the change is from deep paint oxidation that needs a different treatment, and we will tell you what we see when we start.
Does aluminium window cleaning differ between flats and villas?
The parts cleaned are the same in both cases: frame, track, glass and seals. In flats some windows are high up or face shared corridors, which affects how they are reached. In villas there are often more windows and some may be non-standard sizes. Access and scale are what shape the job, and those details are discussed when you call.
What should I check on the aluminium windows after cleaning is done?
Slide the glass panel to check it moves smoothly now the track is clear, look at the corners and frame joints where grime usually hides, check that the rubber seal has recovered some of its original colour, and view the glass at an angle to see whether any marks remain.
