What does shop glass cleaning cover?
Shop-front glass faces dust and fine sand, handprints, food vapour from nearby kitchens and the occasional seasonal rain streak, and each layer adds to the one before it. The extra difficulty is that shopfront panels are often large, double-glazed or laminated sheets, and a single scratch shows immediately under direct sunlight.
We clean your shopfront inside and out, along with display glass and glass doors. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district, the type of shop and the number of panels roughly, and we agree a time that suits you.
These are the surfaces and parts the cleaning goes through in a shop, and the details of the work are agreed when you call us.
- The front glass panels
We wipe the large panels from both sides, inside and out, because fine dust settles on the outer surface while fingerprints and vapour build up on the inner one.
- Display case glass
Display glass picks up customer fingerprints and smudges constantly, and we clean it from the outside without disturbing what is inside.
- Glass doors
Push and pull areas on glass doors collect grease and fingerprints more than any other surface in the shop, and they are the first thing a customer's hand touches.
- Frames and sills
Aluminium frames and glass sills trap dust and sand, and if left, they can prevent the door from closing cleanly, so we wipe them at the same time as the glass.
- Corners and panel edges
Corners between adjacent panels and silicone-sealed edges hold dust that is invisible from a distance but clear to a customer standing close, and we take care of them during the clean.
- Side glazing panels
Some shops have fixed side panels next to the door or at the top of the front; we make sure they are cleaned evenly with the rest so the whole front looks consistent.

Questions about Shop glass cleaning
How do I know my shop glass needs cleaning now?
Stand on the pavement in daylight and look at the front at an angle; if you see a grey film, yellow streaks or clear smudges, the glass is already overdue. Fine sand builds up on glass even without an obvious dust storm, and a thin layer reflects light in a way that makes the front look neglected.
Is cleaning shop glass different from cleaning home windows?
Yes, in size, type and use. Shopfront panels are usually larger and heavier than home windows, many are laminated or have a reflective coating, and they pick up customer contact and vapour daily. Home window cleaning differs in how you reach it and the surface type, and the details of each are agreed when the customer calls.
Does the shop need to be closed during the cleaning?
Not necessarily, but if the cleaning includes the inside of the front you should clear a space in front of the glass and move any displayed stock nearby. Details and timing are agreed when you call, and many shops prefer a slot before opening or after closing.
Yellow stains on the glass do not come off with water, what are they?
A fixed yellow film on shopfront glass is usually mineral deposits from water that dried on the surface over time, sometimes linked to pavement sprinklers or rain mixing with dust. This type is treated differently from ordinary dust, and you tell us about the glass condition when you call so we can prepare accordingly.
Some of the glass is high and unreachable from inside, is that a problem?
No, but it is an important detail to mention when you call. High panels on a commercial front need a different approach from panels within reach, and the more you tell us about the height and layout of the front in advance, the better we can prepare.
