What does fridge cleaning cover?
A fridge opens and closes many times every day, and each time moisture and food particles go with it. The glass shelves, the plastic drawers and the rubber door seals all collect stains and odours slowly, and the effect often stays invisible until the smell becomes noticeable the moment you open the door. In the heat, condensation inside the fridge adds to the problem, and the seals can soften and trap residue faster than in cooler climates.
We hear from you what you notice, then we handle fridge cleaning from the inside: shelves, drawers, inner walls, door seals and the cooling coil at the back when it needs it. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and the condition of the fridge, and we agree a time that works for you.
These are the parts the cleaning covers, depending on the fridge's condition and what you notice when you call.
- Glass shelves
We take out the shelves and clean both sides and the fixing edges, because liquid spills seep underneath and dry there out of reach of everyday wiping.
- Drawers and dividers
We remove the vegetable and fruit drawers and the door compartments and wash them, as fruit juice and food crumbs build up inside them and become the source of the smell.
- Inner walls and base
We wipe the inner walls and the base of the fridge, as moisture and stains cling to these surfaces and carry the smell even after the food is removed.
- Door rubber seals
We attend to the rubber seals around the door frame, as their folds trap moisture and mould slowly and weaken the seal if they are not cleaned.
- Control panel and handles
We wipe the control panel and the handles on the outside, as these are the most-touched surfaces and often carry fingerprints and a layer of grease.
- Cooling coil and rear vents
We clean the coil at the back and the surrounding vents when needed, as dust settles there and makes the fridge work harder than it should.

Questions about Fridge cleaning
The smell is still there even after I clean the fridge myself, what is the cause?
Everyday wiping removes what you can see on the shelves, but the smell lives in the folds of the rubber seals, under the glass shelves and inside the fruit and vegetable drawers. These spots need the parts removed and cleaned separately, and that is the difference between surface wiping and cleaning the fridge fully from the inside.
What should I prepare before the fridge cleaning appointment?
Empty the fridge of all food before the appointment and put anything that needs to stay cold in a container with ice or a temporary cooler. Also tell us if the fridge is pushed tight against the wall at the back or is hard to pull out, so we can prepare for access to the rear when needed.
What do I check after the fridge cleaning is done?
Open the door and check that it closes firmly with no gap between the seal and the frame. Place your hand near the seal while it is closed to feel whether any cold air escapes. Then put the food back and wait a few hours to notice whether the smell has gone when you open it.
What changes the scope of the fridge cleaning job?
The size and type of fridge make a difference: a single-door fridge differs from a double-door or a large side-by-side model. The level of build-up also matters, as old dried stains take longer than fresh ones. That is why we ask about these details when you call, so we can agree on what suits your situation.
My fridge door seals are cracked, do they get cleaned or replaced?
Cleaning removes what has built up in the seal folds and can restore some flexibility if the material is still intact. But if the seal is deeply cracked or torn, cleaning alone will not restore a firm close, and replacement is a maintenance matter rather than a cleaning one. Tell us about the seal's condition when you call and we will advise you.
