What does post-build building cleaning cover?
A building is different from a single flat because dust and debris build up on every level from the ground floor to the roof: the stairwell carries a thick plaster layer, the corridors collect cement dust carried out from the units, and the facade holds paint splatter and adhesive residue on the window glass. This kind of dust does not come away with an ordinary mop because it comes from drilling, cutting and plastering.
We start when you call or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us the number of floors, your district, and what you notice in the building, and we agree a time and what to prepare before we begin. We work through each floor in order and close the job when you see the building as it should look.
These are the parts the cleaning goes through in the building, depending on the number of floors, the condition of each, and what you notice.
- Floors on every level
Cement dust, plaster and building-material residue are removed from the tiles on every floor, because that layer scratches the surface if left and walked on.
- Stairwell and shared areas
The stairwell collects dust from every floor during construction; its steps, balustrades and handrail surfaces are cleaned so they are ready for the first person to use them.
- Walls and ceilings
Walls are wiped and ceilings cleaned of settled dust, spray residue and paint marks, especially in ceiling corners where fine dust collects and is not easily seen.
- Windows and facade glass
Adhesive and paint residue are removed from the glass on every floor from the inside; glass looks hazy after construction because of the chemical film that building materials leave on its surface.
- Entrances and lobbies
The main entrance is the first thing a resident or visitor sees; its floor, walls, ceiling and any decorative features are cleaned with care.
- Rooftop and lift
The rooftop is cleared of dust and debris, and the lift walls and floor are wiped if there is one, as they are part of the building you have taken over.

Questions about Post-build building cleaning
My building has just been handed over by the contractor, do I clean immediately or wait?
It is best to clean before any furniture arrives or additional finishing work begins, because floors and walls are exposed and easy to reach. If time has passed since handover, cleaning is still necessary because cement dust hardens on surfaces over time and does not come away with sweeping alone.
The stairwell has a thick plaster layer, is it treated differently?
Hardened plaster on stair treads is different from ordinary dust and needs careful removal so the surface is not scratched. The stairwell also collects dust from every floor because it is the main route during construction, so it takes longer than other areas.
Do the units have to be completely empty before building cleaning?
It is not required for shared areas such as the stairwell, corridors and entrances. But if the units are included, it is better for them to be free of furniture so floors, walls and windows are easy to reach. Tell us when you call what needs cleaning and we will agree on what is needed.
What affects the price of post-build building cleaning?
The price depends on the number of floors and the size of the units, how much debris has built up in the shared areas, and whether cleaning includes the facade and exterior glass or is limited to the interior. We discuss all these details when you call or message us.
What should I check myself after the building cleaning is done?
Start with the stairwell and check the steps are clear of plaster, then look at corridor floors under angled light to spot fine dust, check the window glass on each floor from the inside for adhesive and paint residue, and look at the ceiling corners in the entrances.
