What does AC filter cleaning cover?
The AC filter is a thin mesh that every cubic centimetre of incoming air must pass through, and the fine dust clings to it layer by layer. Once the pores are blocked, less air gets through, so the unit works harder and delivers weaker cooling, and a stale smell often appears when you switch it on.
Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district and the type of AC you have, and we agree a time that suits you. We take care of the filter and the surfaces around it, and you leave the rest to us.
These are the parts the work goes through when cleaning the filter, depending on the type of filter, its condition and what you notice in your AC.
- The filter mesh
We remove the mesh and clear the built-up dust by washing or blowing it out depending on its type, since it is what stops dust from reaching the coil behind it.
- The filter frame
Coarse dust collects on the plastic frame edges, and we wipe them carefully because a crack in the frame lets air bypass the filter entirely.
- The filter slot
We clean the slots the filter slides into inside the unit, because dust builds there too and stops the filter from sealing properly when it is returned.
- The front cover
We wipe the outer cover of the unit, inside and out, when we clean the filter, because dust settles on its vents and restricts the air coming in.
- The vent louvres
We remove dust from the direction louvres, which can set into a hard crust in the heat and may stop them moving freely.
- Check after refitting
We refit the filter and run the AC with you to check that airflow feels normal and that the unit is not making any unusual noise.

Tell us what you notice
Tell us whether the air is weak or a smell appears when you run it, which district you are in, and the type of AC: split, window or other.
- 3
We agree a time
We settle on a time that suits you, and you move any items and light furniture away from the indoor unit so we can reach it easily.

Cleaning and check
We remove the filter and clean it with its frame, slot, cover and vents, then refit it and run the AC with you to confirm the airflow has improved.

Questions about AC filter cleaning
When do I know my AC filter needs cleaning?
The clearest sign is that the air coming out of the AC feels weaker than it used to without any change in the set temperature. A smell when it starts, or visible dust on the mesh itself, often goes with that. Homes near main roads or open ground, dust builds on the filter faster than elsewhere.
Does the type of filter affect how it is cleaned?
Yes. Plastic mesh filters can be washed with water and left to dry, while fibre or paper filters do not tolerate water and are cleaned by blowing or brushing. That is why we ask about your AC type when you call, so we come prepared for the filter you have.
What should I prepare before the appointment?
Move furniture and items away from the indoor unit so it is easy to reach. If the unit is high up or in a tight space, mention that when you call so we come prepared. You do not need to cut the power yourself beforehand.
What should I check after the filter is cleaned?
Run the AC and check that the airflow from the vent feels stronger than before, and notice whether any smell has gone. Also listen to the unit: an unfamiliar buzz or vibration can mean the filter has not settled firmly in its slot. We run it in front of you before we leave to check.
My filter looks clean on the outside; does it still need cleaning?
Fine dust that blocks the pores is not always visible from the outer face of the filter, because it builds up deep in the mesh and on the inner side facing the coil. If you notice weaker air even though the filter looks clean, the layer is most likely hidden on the inside.
