What does split AC cleaning cover?
A split AC differs from other types because it has two separate units: an indoor one that pulls in room air and cools it, and an outdoor one that expels the heat outside. The indoor unit traps fine dust on the coil and across the drum of the blower fan. As that layer thickens, the cooling weakens, a damp smell may appear, black specks can blow into the room, and water may drip from the bottom of the unit.

These are the parts the cleaning goes through in both units, depending on the condition of your AC and what you notice in it.
- The mesh filter
We remove the filter, wash it and let it dry fully before replacing it. It is the first barrier that faces dust from the room air and it is often left uncleaned for a long time.
- The cooling coil and fins
Fine dust passes through the filter and clings to the thin fins of the coil, which slows heat exchange and makes the AC work harder to cool less. We remove it carefully to avoid bending the fins.
- The indoor blower drum
Dirt clumps on the drum blades and leaves as black specks in the air. Removing it needs direct cleaning of the drum itself, not just the filter.
- The drain tray and pipe
Condensation collects in the drain tray and leaves through the pipe. If algae or dust block the pipe the water backs up and drips from the indoor unit into the room.
- The indoor unit cover
We wipe dust and marks off the outer cover and grilles. This is the visible part of the indoor unit and it looks noticeably cleaner once the work is done.
- The outdoor unit
The condenser coil and the outdoor fan collect dust and street dirt. We rinse them when needed so the unit can shed heat properly.

Questions about Split AC cleaning
Black specks are coming out of my AC, what is causing that?
They come from the indoor blower drum. Dirt clumps on the drum blades over time and breaks off when the AC runs. Washing the filter alone will not remove them because the drum sits directly behind the filter. Cleaning the drum is part of a full indoor unit clean.
How do I know my outdoor unit needs washing?
If the AC is cooling more slowly than usual during the hottest part of the day, dust and street dirt may have coated the condenser coil and slowed the heat rejection. An outdoor unit that has not been cleaned in a long time in a dusty district is worth checking.
Should I switch off the AC power before the visit?
No need to do that beforehand. The unit is switched off before cleaning starts as a matter of course. What helps is moving bedding and curtains away from the indoor unit and clearing the space below it, and letting us know if the unit is very high or in a tight spot.
What changes the cost from one split AC to another?
The agreement depends on several things: the size and capacity of the unit, its condition and how long since it was last cleaned, where it is and how easy it is to reach, and whether the outdoor unit also needs washing. All of this becomes clear when you describe what you notice and we agree the details.
My split AC has a self-clean function, does that replace a proper clean?
The self-clean function found on some split models works on the coil only, using moisture or a light freeze cycle to loosen dust, but it does not reach the blower drum, does not remove compacted dirt from the unit, and does not check the drain line. A thorough manual clean is still needed.
