What does shopfront cleaning cover?
A shopfront is usually made up of wide glass panels, metal or aluminium frames, raised lettering, a name board and an entrance floor. All of these collect dust every day, along with handprints on the glass, grease marks near food areas, and mineral-water deposits around the frames. Fine dust settles into frame joints and the grooves of raised letters and does not come away with a simple wipe.
We clean the glass, the frames, the signboard, the lettering and the entrance floor. Call or message us on WhatsApp, tell us your district, the type of shop and the material of the shopfront, and we agree a time.
These are the elements the cleaning covers on a shopfront, depending on the material, the condition and what you notice on them.
- Front glass panels
We remove handprints, mineral deposits and sticky marks from the glass surface, as these draw the eye more than any other part of the shopfront.
- Frames and joints
Metal and aluminium frames trap fine dust in their joints and channels; we clear this build-up carefully because leaving it makes it harder to remove later.
- Name board and lettering
Raised and lit letters collect dust and insects behind and between their surfaces; we wipe those hard-to-reach areas that a standard wipe misses.
- Entrance floor
The entrance floor takes foot traffic and street dust; we remove the built-up dirt and stains before they harden into a layer that needs heavier work.
- Door frames and handles
Door frames and pull handles receive constant hand contact and build up a greasy film; we wipe them with what suits their material.
- Sides and corners
The sides and corners of a shopfront collect dust, cobwebs and deposits that are not visible from the front but show clearly up close or when entering.

Questions about Shopfront cleaning
How do I know my shopfront needs cleaning and not just rain?
Rain is rare and does not remove sticky marks, handprints or the mineral deposits that form around frames. If the glass looks hazy in angled light, white lines show around the frames, or dust has settled into the joints of the lettering, the shopfront needs real cleaning, not rain.
There is sticky residue from an old sticker on the glass, can it be removed?
Yes, sticker residue and old adhesive on glass can be removed in a way that suits the glass surface without scratching it. Tell us when you call where the marks are and how large they are, as that is part of agreeing the work needed.
What should I prepare before the shopfront cleaning starts?
Move display stands and items near the shopfront on both sides, and make sure the entrance is accessible. If the shopfront has lit letters, let us know in advance, and mention any fragile or damaged part you want us to be careful around.
The raised letters on my shopfront have black dust in the spaces behind them, is that normal?
This is common. Fine dust and exhaust particles get in behind raised letters and build up over time; a surface wipe does not reach those areas. Full cleaning includes the backs and sides of the letters, and how involved that is depends on how they are mounted.
Common mistake: can I hose down the shopfront glass to save cleaning time?
Hosing down shopfront glass with tap water leaves mineral deposits on the surface when it dries, especially where the water is hard. Those deposits show as white marks that need more work to remove later, and this is a common mistake when cleaning commercial glass shopfronts.
