What does flea control cover?
A flea is a small wingless insect that jumps far relative to its size, and it lays its eggs in carpet fibres, mattress fabric and cracks in wooden floors. In homes with cats or dogs, or in rooms where a pet has spent time, they spread faster because the eggs hatch in warmth and stay viable for a long time even after the animal is removed from the space.
Tell us what you notice in your home, which district you are in, and whether there are pets or thick carpet involved, and we agree a time for the treatment. Call or message us on WhatsApp and leave the rest to us.
These are the surfaces and areas the treatment covers, based on what you describe and what the inspection finds.
- Carpet and rugs
Carpet fibres are a preferred environment for flea eggs and larvae because they offer warmth and cover, so the treatment covers the top surface and the edges close to the walls.
- Mattresses and bedding
Larvae settle in the foam and fabric layers of a mattress; the mattress surfaces and its base are treated, and covers and pillows need washing before the visit.
- Wooden floors and cracks
Flea eggs fall into the gaps between floorboards and stay there beyond the reach of sweeping, so those cracks are treated as part of the work.
- Pet bedding and resting spots
Where the pet sleeps or rests is where most eggs and adult fleas concentrate, and these spots receive particular attention in the treatment.
- Upholstered furniture
Fleas climb onto upholstered sofas and armchairs and hide in seams and cushion edges, so these surfaces are covered in the treatment.
- Room edges and wall corners
Adult fleas travel along skirting boards and wall edges before reaching a host, and the treatment covers these paths to break the insect's life cycle.

Questions about Flea control
I only feel bites in one room; does that mean the fleas are contained?
Not necessarily. Fleas concentrate where a pet sleeps or where time is spent on the floor, so noticing more in one room points to a source there rather than a real boundary. We ask about your room layout and use when you call to gauge the scope of the work.
We removed the cat weeks ago and the bites are still happening; why?
Flea eggs and larvae stay in carpet fibres and floor cracks for a long time waiting for a host, and when the animal is gone adult fleas turn to people instead. Removing the pet alone does not end the cycle, which is why treatment is needed to break it at the source.
What should I prepare at home before the flea control appointment?
Wash bedding and clothes left on the floor, take pets out before the appointment, and clear rooms of bags and loose items on the carpet. Tell us if a room has thick carpet or heavily upholstered furniture so we can prepare for it.
How do I check that the treatment has worked after it finishes?
In the days after treatment you may notice some activity from larvae that were protected inside cocoons and emerge afterwards; this is expected. What to watch for is bites continuing after the agreed ventilation period, or clear activity in treated areas. If that happens, tell us what you see.
Are the fleas I see on the pet the only problem in the home?
Adult fleas on the pet are only a small part of the problem; the larger part is eggs, larvae and pupae spread in the surrounding environment such as carpet, bedding and cracks. Treating the pet at the vet and treating the home environment are different and each completes the other.
