Questions about Ceiling cleaning
How do I know my ceiling needs cleaning rather than repainting?
If the patch is on the surface only, with no cracking or lifting paint around it, cleaning is usually enough. But if the paint is peeling or cracks have appeared near the patch, the source may be moisture inside the structure. When you call we ask exactly what you see so we can agree on the right step.
What should I prepare before you come to clean the ceiling?
Cover furniture and appliances in the room with sheets or plastic before we arrive, and move anything easy to shift out of the room entirely. If there is a large chandelier or ceiling fan in the area to be cleaned, tell us about it when you call.
There is a yellow patch near my AC vent, is it a leak or just dirt?
Yellow patches near AC vents are often caused by condensed vapour or dark dust stuck to moisture, not a pipe leak. But if the patch feels damp to the touch or returns after each season, that is worth noting before cleaning. We ask about it when you call to judge the ceiling's condition.
Does the type of paint on my ceiling change how it is cleaned?
Yes. Gloss paint handles moisture better than matt paint, which absorbs it quickly and marks with rubbing. Bare plaster ceilings are more delicate than those with a firm coat of paint. That is why we find out the surface type when we agree on the appointment.
Can a kitchen ceiling covered in grease be cleaned?
