What does stair washing cover?
Stairs are the most-used space in a villa or apartment block, and every footstep leaves a trace on the treads, the edges and the tight corners. The fine dust comes in with every door opening and settles first on horizontal surfaces, then feet carry it onto the side walls and the handrail. The curved sections under the handrail and the inner corners of each step collect grime that an ordinary mop does not reach.
Call us or message us on WhatsApp, tell us the type of staircase, how many floors it spans, what you notice on it and which district you are in, and we agree a suitable time for the stair washing.
These are the parts the work goes through, based on the surface type, its condition and what you notice on it.
- The tread surface
We wash the flat part of each step where feet land, which is the area most marked by dirt and dust carried by daily foot traffic.
- Tread edge and riser
The front edge and the vertical face of each step collect shoe marks and are hard to clear with ordinary wiping, so they need direct washing.
- Step corners
Fine dust gathers in the angle between the step and the side wall and is usually missed by mopping, so we pay particular attention to it during washing.
- Handrail and balusters
Hands touch the handrail every day and leave marks on it, while the vertical balusters collect dust along the full run of the stairs and need careful wiping.
- Side wall of the staircase
The wall alongside the staircase receives dust thrown up by constant movement, and we wipe it as part of the job so the whole staircase looks clean.
- Landing between floors
The landing is where two flights meet and dirt collects from both directions, so we include it in the stair washing because it is part of the same route.

Questions about Stair washing
How do I know my stairs need washing rather than an ordinary mop?
If dirt stays in the step corners or on the handrail after ordinary mopping, it means the dust has built up into a layer that needs water and proper pressure to lift. Marble and ceramic absorb fine grime into their small surface scratches, and a mop does not draw it out.
My stairs are marble. Does washing them differ from ceramic?
Yes. Marble is a fine surface that needs care during washing so it is not marked, and marble polishing is often added after washing to restore the shine that dulls under built-up grime. Tell us the surface type when you call and we agree on what suits it.
What should I prepare before you come to wash the stairs?
Clear the stairs of anything on the treads or landings such as shoes, bags and plants, and let us know if there is a wooden or glass handrail that needs different handling. Opening a nearby window if possible also helps the surface dry faster.
What should I check after the stair washing is done?
Check the step corners and the area directly under the handrail, as these are the hardest spots to reach and where dirt gathers most. Look along the side wall from a low angle to see if any marks remain, and check that the balusters are clean from top to bottom.
The staircase is shared across several floors of a block. Does that change the job compared with a villa stair?
A shared staircase in a block is longer and used by more people, so grime comes from multiple households. The scope depends on the number of floors, the width of the stairs and their condition. Tell us when you call so we can agree on what suits your building.
